Arthur Avenue

An 80s kitchen addition gets an update with a limited budget. The client admired the work of a local carpenter who crafted islands out of reclaimed wood, and his price fit the budget, so I designed the kitchen island to fit the client’s needs (complete with a vintage, mounted bottle cap opener). Most of the appliances were existing. I sourced and designed the layout of the IKEA Adel cabinets along the wall; the honed absolute black granite countertops were remnants that were leftover pieces from a slab.  I sourced a simple subway tile for the backsplash. The client purchased the pendant lights from a local lighting store. All photos by Betsy Maddox.
